今日はうにスパゲティとからすみスパゲティが名物なVictoria駅近くの「Olivo」にて同僚と食事。日本から来たばかりの二人にはあまりウケず涙。しかし知る限りロンドンベスト3のスパゲティ屋のはず!!

Disclaimer:
This document will explain the steps to customize ROM images of SPV C550.
The content written here has no guarantees what so ever, and includes tools and methods not supported by the handset manufacture, software provider, mobile operator, etc, and may damage your mobile phone very easily. By trying out any step written here, your warranty may be void. Do it with your own risk.

1. Things to Prepare and Minimal Tricks
1-1. Windows 2k/XP
There shouldn’t be any restrictions on which OS you use, but some tools mentioned later in this document may require Windows 2k/XP as minimal platform, so using either one is recommended. (I’m sure all of you reading this is viewing with one of the two ;)

1-2. SD-Card Reader (with MiniSD Adapter)
It doesn’t matter which hardware you use, but get either a MiniSD compatible SD Card Reader, or a normal SD Card Reader with MiniSD Adaptor. Some old hardware required it’s own software to read/write to SD Card and not useful here. Make sure you get a reader that is recognized as a drive on OS.
If you have a digital camera using SD card, it is normally recognized as a drive when you plug it to your PC, and can be used if you wish not to buy an another one ;)

I used Panasonic BN-SDCEAD together with Fujitsu MiniSD Adaptor lent to me by a friend.

1-3. Recovering to Factory Setting
This is very basic. If you mess around with Registry, there are times you notice that the phone doesn’t boot again. In these cases, you may use a hardware reset to factory settings. Since there are many buttons on SPV C550, some people (like me ;) may get confused thinking “which one of the buttons is he talking about!?” so check out the illustration below.

Step1: Power your mobile off and unplug USB cable
Step2: Hold down the two softkeys on each end and press and quickly release the power button. *1
Step3: When the screen below shows, press “0” button. Pressing other buttons will get back to normal boot.
Step4: It’ll take longer than normal boot since it’s reloading ROM images and runs hardware settings. You may be asked for instructions on the screen, but just follow them. *2
